Before we jump in, a special offer! Last week, I debuted our Residential Project Planning Workbook. I’d like to extend a special offer to my loyal subscribers…it’s at the end of the post!
Our clients have done all kinds of amazing and difficult things - we’ve helped them lift buildings in the air and installed new foundations under them, we’ve helped them convert churches and warehouses and old factories into circus acrobat schools, breweries, distilleries, and spas, and they’ve risked their livelihoods and businesses on audacious and cool mixed use urban housing projects….and what’s the thing that scares most of them the most?
Picking colors.

Think about it - it’s why everything is white and gray - because color feels like a risk, a bold statement that won’t appeal to everyone, a strong stance when it’s safer to just be quiet. While there’s a whole conversation to be had about why we shouldn’t just play to the broadest appeal/blandest approach - especially if you’re trying to create a product that stands out and is differentiated in a market - I also think that many owners don’t want to risk more color because *they themselves* are nervous about it!
So, if you’re ready to start thinking beyond white and gray, let’s get started.
